Call me august. I'm a sinologist. My work involves Chinese cities, religion, and politics. I’ve been thinking a lot about urban issues. Often I scream at the universe, or some monarch, or all the folks who think they should be monarchs, hence my blog august philippic. It's part of Quiblit, which means I really should write for it more often. Sometimes I just don't feel like talking.
I do write, sometimes about music, more rarely about photography and movies, and occasional uncategorizable musings and poetry. I wish I knew more -- more languages, more science, more recipes, just more. My very best post is about naked mole rats, a species that reminds me of work. I'm on a diet and looking for a job, so naturally I'm feeling my best.
